Get A Kitchen Deep Clean Before The Christmas Dining Rush

There are just a couple of weeks to go before the Christmas rush sets in for the

hospitality sector, with work parties, family gatherings, dinners out and festive meet

ups seeing restaurants fully booked throughout December.

Therefore, this is the perfect time to book industrial cleaning solutions to get your kitchen thoroughly scrubbed and in the best state. This way, it can cope with the huge load throughout the season and make sure hygiene remains sky high for everyone who dines at the restaurant during this period.

- Cleaning kitchen surfaces

Depending on the size of the kitchen, it could serve hundreds of diners every day, which means it is essential the surfaces are kept clean to avoid any cross contamination.

However, it is also sensible to have a deep clean every once in a while to remove any hidden dirt, residual oil or bacteria from the surfaces, particularly in those hard-to-reach areas.

You certainly do not want to risk anyone falling ill after eating at your establishment, as this could ruin your Christmas trade, which is a big earner for the year.

- Extractor clean

Another area that needs thorough cleaning from time to time is the extractor fan. Vents remove grease and oil, air contaminants, and food particles from the kitchen, but they can also get blocked if they are not regularly cleaned.

This can lead to poor air quality, resulting in health problems for the staff; bad odours in the kitchen; and low hygiene conditions in the area, as bacteria and mould accumulates in the vents.

Cleaning them also reduces the risk of a fire, as the grease and oil build-up can ignite with a spark.

Regular ventilation cleans are a legal requirement by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Failure to adhere to these maintenance checks can result in substantial fines for the restaurant owner.

- Good morale before Christmas

Being able to work in a kitchen that is spotless, well-looked after, and looks new can do a lot to boost staff morale before the Christmas rush.

It will make them feel valuable, as investment in their surroundings is considered to be worthwhile, and it will be far more satisfying to prepare delicious food if their working area is in good condition.

Therefore, employees are likely to feel positive when they come to work and be their most productive, which is important as the long days and late nights working at a restaurant during December can easily tire staff out.
